The Diversity of the Curling Wand
It’s natural for women to want to change the texture of their hair. Luckily, today’s women have options when it comes to changing their ‘do, and many tools are available, depending on the style they desire.
Perhaps the most versatile tool on the market today is the curling wand, which has certainly come a long way since the ancient greeks heated rods of steel in the fire and wrapped their tresses around it. Most likely this resulted in burned, damaged hair–and quite a few finger burns as well! Nowadays you can choose the size, style, and temperature of your curling device, with options for every budget.
Some curling irons, the most popular, have spring-loaded handles which grip the hair to the rod and allow for easy curling. The downside to that is the clamp can sometimes leave grooves in the curl, causing it to look unnatural. A good alternative to this would be the newer curling wand, which does not have a clamp. Instead, the hair is wrapped around the barrel and held into place with tension.
Beyond these basic two styles, you can also opt for a wand with a brush attached, a ceramic barrel, and many size options, based on what you want your curls to look like.
